Motherboard: ASUS P5N-D
GPU: Radeon HD 7850 with two vents
CPU: Intel duo core E8400 3 GHz
4 gb RAM
64 Bit Windows 10
Average temperature around 50°C, stock cooler running at 40%
Currently experiencing some issues with FPS in Overwatch, considering CPU overclocking. GPU seems to be managing well, and memory usage isn’t a major concern on the CPU.
DRAM is around 70% and CPU usage is about 90% in Task Manager. GPU appears to be relatively new.
I’m playing Overwatch with 25-45 fps plus or minus.

MSI afterburner is a straightforward application to use:
http://www.tomsguide.com/faq/id-1933689/...urner.html
Check the option "Apply overclocking at system startup" at the bottom of the program's homepage.

Initially, what kind of cooler are you pairing with the E8400? Is it the original model or a different one? I recommend avoiding overclocking with the stock cooler, although it's doable. Using an aftermarket cooler would make it simpler and allow for significantly higher overclocks.

I've discovered a tutorial you can refer to for this purpose.

I'm using the stock cooler, I've never overclocked anything before, and the unstable FPS in Overwatch is a bit annoying. I don't have much money to spend on a new PC.

i am using the stock cooler, i have never overclocked before, and the unstable fps on overwatch is a bit annoying. I can't really afford a new pc. I'm not sure if overclocking the cpu will help much, maybe try lowering your game settings and it might improve fps. To overclock a processor, it is recommended to buy an aftermarket cooler that fits your case. Have you considered overclocking the gpu? That could help.

Adjusting it to a consistent level would be more beneficial than you might think. Boosting the VRAM and core clock speed could enable higher configurations, etc.
