Hey everyone. I've been facing this problem since setting up my new PC. Most games run smoothly until it hits this point: specs include a 9800X3D CPU, 4070 Super Mobo GPU, X870 Aorus Elite RAM, 32GB SSD, and several NVMe drives. Here’s what I’ve tried: turned off overlays, disabled startup apps, updated chipset drivers, BIOS, GPU drivers, rolled back the GPU driver a few times, enabled/disabled EXPO, activated HAGS, and switched global C-state (which helped with Marvel Rivals stutters). I changed CPU, GPU, RAM, motherboard, power supply, but the SATA SSD stayed the same. My old build never had this issue. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Which version? Possibly insufficient VRAM at 4K, let's verify 1440p

The display is set to 1440p resolution. I also attempted a lower frame rate of 75-80 FPS, but the issues persisted.

I notice those spikes when AMD Overlay is active. It sounds annoying, but maybe you're playing in full screen or a different resolution. Verify your refresh rate settings in the game and on your monitor. That should help.

You don't use AMD overlay. Most games run in fullscreen or borderless mode. Refresh is set to 165 in-game and in the display options.

You're using MSI Afterburner as shown in the video. I understand you're checking the "MSI Overlay" feature occasionally. It seems you're not always running it during gameplay. Consider lowering the refresh rate to 144Hz. The issue might be related to GPU performance, possibly causing instability.

I don’t test it constantly. I did it to let everyone clearly observe the temperatures, usage, and connections. This is Horizon: Forbidden West.

All appears fine except for that clear "slowdown"... or delay... or whatever it is. Not enough optimization for the specific processor or graphics card. That’s the only thing left to fix.

Turned off Nvidia Reflex in Horizon: FW, the spikes appear to be resolved. Overwatch continues to cause problems even if MSI is active or not.
