Hello, I had an older machine that I used as a workstation some time ago. After getting a new computer, I decided to convert it into a home server. I downloaded Windows Server 2012r2 and set it up. Most networking and chipset driver installations went smoothly. However, I want to use it as an export server for my video editing projects so I don’t have to rely on the main machine whenever I need to export files. The Dell Optiplex 960 with Intel chipset is running Windows Server 2012r2, but I’m facing issues installing the driver. Every time I try, a message appears saying “your system does not meet the minimum requirements.” For Adobe Media Encoder to work properly, I need a video driver. I’ve checked the compatibility settings in the install file, but the same error keeps showing up. Anyone have any advice?

Open the Start menu, press the Device Manager button, and select "Display adapters." Check for Microsoft Basic Display Adapter; absence indicates missing graphics drivers. If present, locate it via Windows Update: right-click the adapter and choose "Update Driver Software..." Then search automatically for updated driver software. This process may take a few seconds to minutes. If delayed, troubleshoot by rebooting the server or manually stopping/restarting the Windows Update service (kill TrustedInstaller.exe). Ensure internet connectivity is active for automatic detection. If issues persist, enable the option in Control Panel > Hardware > Devices and Printers, right-click the device, and select Device Installation settings with "Yes." For Windows 8+ (Server 2012+), a WDDM 1.0+ driver is required, compatible with Windows Aero on Vista and 7.

Remark: Using just a Core 2 Duo and 4GB of memory isn't advised for running a server.

System needs a multicore processor with 64-bit support. Operating system options include Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8 SP1, Windows 8.1 SP1, or Windows 10 SP1, all 64-bit versions. Minimum requirements are 16GB RAM (4GB free space) and a display of 1024x768 resolution, preferably 1280x800. Internet connection and registration are essential for activation and accessing online features.
