It might be due to several Google accounts being active in the Chrome browser simultaneously. Adjust this by opening the Chrome settings and removing one of the accounts.

You're only connected to one Google account, but clicking 'Switch Person' only displays you.

Navigate to about:flags and turn off the feature by disabling "Enable new profile management system".

Hi, visibility is the main issue. Profiles are listed under the hotdog menu, and few people are aware of it. Type about://flags into the omnibox. The flag can be found there. Be cautious with other flags. Resetting to defaults is helpful. This workaround will disappear once the product is released.]

Visit chrome://flags and search for the relevant option. Adjust settings for Google profile name and icon across different operating systems. You may find controls to manage or disable new profile creation there.
