I own this PC for a while now. It's a Ryzen 3 3200G running on an A320M-A Pro Max motherboard. I had a GPU, so I sold it. I wanted to bring my PC back into gaming—especially since I’m playing on my PS5. My goal was to upgrade slowly, but I stayed on the AM4 platform. Recently, my new motherboard arrived: an ASRock B450M-Pro4 R2.0. I swapped out the old one. At first, the system kept looping. I checked everything, but nothing fixed it. I found out online that a CPU cooler might be the issue. I tried removing the fan and it stopped looping. However, it didn’t work anymore. The LED lights are on, the case fan spins, but the screen stays dark. When I connected my keyboard, it didn’t respond, and the lights stayed off. I went back to the old motherboard, but it still wouldn’t boot. Could anyone assist? My English isn’t perfect, and I won’t be able to test anything today because I have a night shift and need rest.
It seems like the component might have overheated if it ran too long. Consider resetting the CMOS according to the motherboard instructions.
The processor without any cooling should be accessed in BIOS. My 7800X3D works fine without a cooler, but it crashes during Windows installation. It shouldn’t have damaged the CPU since it would stop immediately at critical temperatures. Reset CMOS as usual and attempt again with the cooler installed.
I questioned the modification you made to the motherboard. It’s possible a mistake occurred. I’d review all connectors and the PSU side as well. Make sure the CPU fan header is correctly filled in.
