I attempt to set up Windows 10 but it fails.
I'm trying to download Windows 10 for 64-bit. I used Windows 7 Premium before and needed it for certain games. After upgrading, I got X32 bit Windows 10. I installed the x64 version on a USB and formatted the drives for Windows 10. Now I'm at the formatting section but can't proceed further.
In the Win10 installer or when making a USB drive, your question isn't very clear. If it's the latter, get the ISO file and burn it onto a local drive. Microsoft servers can be problematic with that step. If you're using an installer, could you share a screenshot? Have you set up or created partitions on the desired drive? Also, if you're connecting more than one drive, it might be better to disconnect all others except the one you plan to use for Windows.
It seems your Windows 7 was running on a 32-bit version, and you opted for an upgrade rather than a fresh installation. You can't simply upgrade a 32-bit OS to 64-bit; you must erase the current setup (format the drive) and perform a clean install, treating it like starting from scratch with a new system or drive. Always back up your data before proceeding, since everything will be lost during the wipe process.
