Which would be superior for gaming FX 6300 or i3 in terms of frame rates and boot time?
6300. The i3 is just a dual-core processor, which may limit performance in many games. If you intend to purchase an Intel CPU with an i5 or higher, it's better to opt for Intel. For those on a budget, AMD remains a strong option. Good luck with your PC build!

if you invest 100 bucks in a cpu then the rule would be to spend twice that amount on the gpu, so with a 200 dollar gpu it makes sense to get better boot times that rely on using a solid-state drive rather than a hard disk. if i were you, with today’s games, try to look for an intel i5 dual core.
but your question is quite broad—are you planning an upgrade later? which gpu are you considering? will you overclock? what games do you play? cpu usage affects load times and/or mmorpgs? or are there more games that rely heavily on the gpu?
6300 Only because the i3 is just a dual core, which might slow you down in most games. If you ever intend to purchase an Intel CPU that's an i5+, it's best to choose Intel. Otherwise, AMD remains a strong option for those on a budget. Good luck with your build!
That's not accurate. The I3 6100 is quite capable despite being dual core.
I'm using one with a 750 TI SC and 8gb of DDR4, and most games I play are running at 60 FPS on medium or high settings.
(Fallout 4 with medium settings and extended draw distances, and GTA V with high settings except textures.)
That said, consider the I3 for future upgrades.
An I7 6700 is what I plan to get when I can no longer play modern titles.

RabidApocalypse says the i3 is only a dual core and it might slow you down in most games. If you're thinking about buying an Intel CPU that's an i5+, stick with Intel. Otherwise, AMD works well on a budget. Hope you have a good build!

Still, opt for the I3 if you want to upgrade. An I7 6700 will be my next choice when I can't play modern games anymore.
I know dual core i3 CPUs are strong, but some titles will lag (not all), and a few won't run at all on them. Plus, I doubt they'll support DDR4 or similar specs, so I expected a different i3 model.
