I am having trouble switching between games with Steam when one of them is running.
Are we talking about just one game or all of them? There are many games over time that don't respond to Alt-Tab. Sometimes pressing the Windows button helps in this situation, sometimes you have to run the game in windowed mode to keep switching screens around.
It wasn't always that way, but things changed just lately now. Even trying to press the Windows button isn't working anymore.
so suddenly no games on your Steam library let you switch back to the Desktop with Alt-Tab? maybe it's because of some Steam settings or a window overlay. try turning off all Steam add-ons and any OSDs. if you're playing games in Fullscreen mode, change them to Windowed Borderless instead.
Do you have a keyboard with special software like Corsair ICUE? If your keyboard doesn't have that, it will stop working for many shortcuts while the game is playing.
I own a HyperX Alloy Origins 60, which comes with a feature called Game Mode, but I keep the switch turned off.
It feels like something is stopped, stopping those Windows shortcuts from working while you play. You'll probably need to find out exactly what's causing the issue.
