I was adjusting settings after reading a random guide some time ago. I modified a registry entry to boost performance, but it slowed down shutdowns noticeably. It wasn’t obvious at first, but now it’s becoming quite bothersome. I can’t locate the tutorial and don’t know what to do. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

To configure shutdown and restart settings for Windows 11, you can modify the registry. Start by pressing the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog. Type regedit and press Enter. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionPoliciesExplorer. If the NoClose key is set to 1, double-click it and change its value to 0. Restart your computer and verify the changes. This process isn't just a casual guide; it requires careful handling of the registry. If you're unsure, it's best to seek proper guidance.

No, those restart and shutdown durations haven’t changed much. You can reinstall Windows while keeping your files intact. Most repair shops often wipe data during installation, but you can usually save your work beforehand.

I can only revert to the state from one day ago, as I modified it earlier. Sorry for the inconvenience.
