This is a 3900X that I use in my PC. I used to stream with it. I believe there is a 99% chance that ISO will win, or perhaps Dr. Pepper will win. Unfortunately, the motherboard is gone. I ordered a new motherboard.

No signs of injury, only a soda residue.

Use distilled water or the most concentrated isopropyl available; however, determining the actual damage remains uncertain without a reliable reference board.

I placed a fresh B550 with 99% ISO. It all went smoothly—it was an old Dr. Pepper can from the previous night, and it gradually settled perfectly into the socket and top of the unit.

Isopropyl alcohol won’t break down any leftover sugar on the CPU. If you’re okay with losing the CPU, mixing equal parts isopropyl alcohol and distilled water works well. Dr. Pepper contains many ingredients, but most are in tiny quantities.

Confirmed. Use distilled water to rinse the soda, followed by an isopropyl soak to replace the liquid with alcohol (as it leaves no residue).

It's frustrating when things go wrong. If it were a Pepsi, it wouldn't have happened since you'd have consumed it completely.

It seems you're facing challenges with cleaning. You'll likely need to run multiple cycles of the cleaning solution. Heat the distilled water to about 40-45°C, which will boost its effectiveness. Adding a small amount—roughly 50 parts water to 1 part enzymatic detergent (like the one from Amazon) — can help break down sugars and debris better. If you're soaking the device, aim for around 20 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol. Avoid fully submerging the CPU; keep the water level just above the substrate. Gently agitate the dish to release trapped air bubbles, possibly using a vibrating tool or app for continuous vibration.

I've dealt with this before, which is why I don't have a PC on the desk. It got splashed on the GPU, but good news—it wasn't damaged.
