I'm looking to gather details on Hynix's latest drama die. I want to collect as much information as possible to identify which kits are truly C-dies and not just disguised versions of others, similar to how the tech community analyzed Samsung B-dies. Thanks for your help!
Upgraded this after installing a 16GB DDR4-3600 CL17 Patriot Viper kit ($85 via Prime) featuring Hynix CJR ICs. It proved to be quite powerful with timing settings of 17-19-19-39-68. Screenshots capture what Thaiphoon shared, the key values I entered into the Ryzen DRAM calculator, and my final UEFI configuration on an ASRock B450 Fatal1ty ITX/AC board. All passed memtest86 at 16-19-20-36-56. Then I tried a 3733 CL16 with settings 16-20-20-36-56 (as per reports), which booted up fine. I didn’t stress test it at those speeds because the Infinity Fabric to DRAM frequency ratio seems to add extra latency, outweighing any performance boost. I might consider a FCLK overclock later, but that’s something for another time.
The 4Gbit CJR model isn't widely recognized, and most sources indicate it supports up to 8Gbit speeds.
I've had trouble getting my overclock working today. I think a setting on auto might have changed after I restarted this morning.
