I converted an old machine into a home theater PC. I need to determine the operating system setup. I aim to run Steam for in-home streaming, YouTube, Netflix, plus Minecraft specs: Core 2 Duo e4500, 8GB DDR2 RAM, 500GB SSD, Seagate Barracuda drive, and Zotac Nvidia GT 740 with 2GB RAM. Thanks! -TheMastr13

Steam OS could be an option. You can use YouTube and Netflix via it, plus streaming through Steam. But for a more reliable choice, Windows is better. I prefer version 7, though that’s just my taste.

Check your operating system version to see if it's Windows 7 or 8.

Considering Windows 8 and a Logitech K400, the Metro Start Menu could enhance the experience on a large screen.
