You're facing challenges getting the 3070 to boot with your Z840. It's showing up with 6 beeps but no video output, and the BIOS is up to date. The graphics card seems functional on another PC, but the power supply is a 1125W unit with a 2x6pin to 8pin connector. Most settings you adjusted haven't resolved the issue, and adding another PSU hasn't helped. It might be related to UEFI settings or a deeper BIOS configuration problem.

Verify two aspects for us. First, explore the BIOS settings, as some require enabling GPU or slot configurations to avoid boot issues. I don't recall the exact criteria but enterprise BIOS often lets you define active graphics slots—check for that option. Second, switch to a different slot. Manufacturers sometimes restrict usage to specific slots, which may be marked or disabled. Lastly, confirm whether your power supply unit is an OEM model or a custom build, and whether it's paired with the Radeon card.

It might be the PCIe generation. Some sites mentioned Gen 2, others Gen 3. Performance can be affected, and it may lead to compatibility issues in certain setups.

The power source seems to be original equipment manufacturer. I'm almost certain these adapter wires are okay... though maybe not. I switched a different port and still couldn't boot. I'll look into the BIOS settings when I try another card.

Checking the bottom slot, possibly on Windows? No video output, but no sounds. I’ll switch to Windows on the other card and verify drivers.

I believe the question was about whether the AMD card drew power via PCIe from the PSU or if it used standard 6-pin connectors without an adapter. When the card performed well, other factors like power connections might have changed. Yes, check the UEFI settings for options related to PCIe activation and graphics priority.

Hey there! Your friend's drawing matches exactly what I needed. Sometimes OEM PSUs have unusual power connectors, which means even if it looks fine, the power supply might not function properly. Understanding what the Radeon card requires for power can help us pinpoint the issue more accurately.

I'm really sorry, I believed the teeth were a clear indicator. Thank you for your understanding. It seems to appear quite appealing.

It's alright, it seems a bit unusual. Cool vibe, though!

It appears to be a normal 6 pin. I found this thread on it. https://www.tenforums.com/graphic-cards/...grade.html This power supply has the 3 way power harness is HP - 745061-001. Here's a cheeky video displaying them from a British chap: The adapter I have *appears* to be wired correctly.
