Your CPU has been overheating during startup and while idle. It reaches up to 80°C on boot, 65–75°C when idle, and can hit 90°C during gameplay. Past issues include crashes after temperatures exceed 90°C. The system runs a Ryzen 7 5800X with an RTX 3080 GPU, powered by an HP motherboard (AM4) and an Omen 120mm liquid cooler. I've replaced the cooler but found the case too small for any additional options. The custom fan spacing on the motherboard makes it hard to fit new parts. The BIOS doesn’t allow fan speed adjustments—only monitoring is available. You may want a tool to manage fan speeds manually.
I've tried it several times using various thermal pastes, but nothing has worked.
I'm here to help. I've applied various thermal pastes multiple times without much improvement. I can sense the pump moving. I also tried creating bubbles by blowing into it. It seems HP uses a non-standard motherboard, and the mounting bracket holes for AM4 are positioned differently than usual. This might be due to an HP prebuilt setup. We've used both BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4 and Thermaltake Hyper 212 Black, but the mounting hardware doesn't match the board's holes.
The system appears to rely on Intel mounting solutions. Although it runs an AMD chip, pairing it with Intel hardware may require combining certain brackets and standoffs to properly install the cooler.
