Hi.
The LH trackpad button is working fine in terms of clicking, but it feels unstable. It seems like the return spring at the LH end has broken or shifted, causing the button to drop and wobble a lot.
Q - is it possible to remove the button safely without causing further damage? I’d like to fix it easily without opening the laptop.
Thanks.
You'll need to swap out the entire palmrest module; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153772391004. Alternatively, locate a comparable palmrest at a lower price and replace the trackpad buttons. Remember to check the second photo on the Ebay listing for details.
Hi - I was also concerned about this!
I'm hoping someone here has actually removed the button from above and can confirm if it's possible without causing damage.
If the trackpad is worn or broken, then it might be safe to replace it. But it seems like that small spring is missing... Ugh
