Hi,
I noticed something with my HP Victus 16 that I bought a year ago. It hasn’t been having any problems before, but lately the hinge is making a squeaking noise every time I open and close it. It’s not a loud crack, just a soft squeak. After checking, I found the issue is with the panels between the display and the hinge. Pressing the display cover from the front side toward the screen causes it to squeak near the edges. If I put pressure on the display assembly, it also makes a noise. I don’t think the hinges are loose, but if they were cracked, it would have made a different sound and the hinge wouldn’t be properly positioned. So, is this squeaking normal? Should I be concerned? Thanks!

I anticipate a hinge might begin to squeak eventually. Refer to the User Guide/Manual for care instructions. I believe applying a small amount of powdered graphite could help. Spread it at the hinge joint on each side and move it gently by opening and closing a few times. Using a regular soft pencil to lightly "color" around the hinges might also suffice.

Observe the joints at each end.
