For a reason our HP Envy 5055 started doing duplex printing only in manual mode. Nothing else changed except the new black ink cartridge. It used to handle duplex automatically, but we can't find any settings to switch it back. This is frustrating when working remotely. What caused this? How can we fix it? The HP Community and Support haven't responded yet.

Can a status or configuration report be generated for the HP 5055 to review its settings? You might not have made any changes, but an update could have occurred.

Which software is used to produce the printed documents? Review the printing options in the software. Are there any specific configuration details for single-sided or double-sided printing?

Also verify the remote computer's printing configuration settings. If several remote machines are impacted, consider a shared cause—possibly unrelated to the printer itself.

Is printing occurring through a template?
