I have an HP elited display connected to my PC. The monitor uses a built-in USB hub, which I connected via a USB 3 cable for a while, but recently it stopped working after a few months. The hub, camera, and microphone no longer function properly even though the cable remains attached. I contacted HP customer care, who sent an engineer to inspect with a new monitor, but the issue persists. The technician suggested a Windows problem and recommended reinstalling Windows, which I did, yet the problem continues. I also tried installing the monitor drivers from HP support, encountering a message saying "your elitedisplay e234m was not detected." Should I attempt to install motherboard drivers instead? What steps should I take next?

Hope this was your monitor purchase. If you bought it for personal use, you might be able to return it. Avoid buying HP products, okay? If connecting it to several computers caused the same problem, then the issue lies with the monitor itself. I’d contact HP to request a replacement because the engineer couldn’t resolve it and his suggested fixes didn’t help.

Unfortunately, the device isn't a monitor; my work provided me with that. I contacted HP, who replaced the monitor with a new one, but the issue remains. I'm exhausted from repeatedly downloading drivers and even tried updating the motherboard BIOS, hoping it would fix things. It's getting frustrating, and I'm starting to consider discarding the monitor altogether.

My ideas about each HP product have been clear. Could you tell me what kind of computer you're using?
