It’s simple to check online. Visit the HP support page, select your model, and search for BIOS updates along with the drivers. Note: if the chip has a 2400 designation, it likely supports a higher frequency like 2700x—same family but upgraded speed.

It's a small PC, and I was thinking about adding a M.2 GPU adapter with a 2700X chip. I doubt it’s possible without modifying the BIOS somehow.

2400GE is a 35W chip, while 2700x delivers 105W. The power supply, VRM, or cooling system for a 705 mini isn't built to handle more than 35W.
