I've been using a 5070ti for about half a year now, purchased used. It's always run smoothly without any problems or overclocking attempts. Recently, while scrolling through the web on both screens, I noticed diagonal black squares with red, green, and blue dots. The computer froze completely. After shutting it down, I rebooted but faced more issues: horizontal lines appeared during startup, and it froze entirely. I tried booting in safe mode, removed all GPU drivers using DDU, and eventually got back to normal after a minute. However, the drivers never fully reinstalled. During driver reinstallation, the screen went black again before returning to normal, though the drivers stayed missing. I've also reinstalled the previous version without success. I recently set up a new custom keyboard (GMK87) about five minutes prior to this incident. My specs include a Zotac 5070TI R7 with 7800x3D, 64GB SSD, 6000MHz DDR5 RAM, and a GeForce game-ready driver from January 5th. I updated to this driver version roughly two days ago. Other details: occasionally during boot attempts, Windows would attempt self-diagnosis and say "couldn't connect to network," and it would stop due to code 43 in Device Manager. Both the NVIDIA app and manual driver updates failed. Have anyone else had a similar experience? Any suggestions on what to try next?

It looks like the device was cooked, which probably means a VRAM issue. If the product comes with a warranty, it's time to return it.

That's a solid approach. You could reach out to Zotac to see if the warranty remains valid even though you're not the original owner. Focus on confirming the warranty ID is still active without mentioning purchasing it secondhand—it usually increases your chances.

I've placed several bets here, but it's only the S/N that's paying off, so I'm continuing to try.

You might want to attempt a boot from a Linux USB drive to check if the problem continues. Also, consider removing your graphics card and switching to integrated graphics. Another option is to connect your graphics card to another computer for testing. Your card could have hardware faults, Windows corruption, motherboard issues, or SSD wear causing similar symptoms. Hope this helps!

Attempt to assert the warranty claim. Since the 5070 Ti was launched under a year ago, it likely remains covered for at least the statutory period. You should pursue a replacement or repair and remain hopeful they won’t discover your status as a non-original purchaser.
