Yes. It won't function with Windows 7. I've never tested both versions being Windows 8. I only had a chance with Windows 10 and Windows 8.1.

RDP functions across different operating systems without issues. It performs well on Windows Server hosts and standard clients like Windows 7, 8, and 8.1.

Windows 7 host lacks transparency features, as well as DirectX and OpenGL acceleration. This causes games to crash when starting, and watching videos turns into a frustrating experience. It’s best to disconnect, wait for the video to finish, and then reconnect.
