They belong to the same network, but it’s unclear how to move files. Using a Linux live disk might help. Let me know if you need more details.

There are many methods to transfer files across the network. However, consider purchasing an external hard drive and regularly backing up important data. If you need immediate results, you can reinstall Windows here. Avoid deleting partitions to ensure everything stays intact.

You're welcome! It's good to know you're thinking carefully. To prevent losing partitions, you might want to back them up before proceeding. If you're careful and avoid any mistakes, you should be safe. Let me know if you need more details!

Everything functioned correctly, and my files remained in the Windows.old directory. I’m really grateful. But now I face another problem—my old desktop folder, downloads, etc., is still under the "Tantzor" user account. Should I move everything into a new user folder, or should I link it back to the old account? Transferring all files might break shortcuts and app paths. Any advice would be appreciated.

I will transfer all user files due to numerous app settings and information updates; using identical files might not be ideal. Also, I’ll arrange backups.

I attempted the update and swapped all user files, yet nothing appeared different. For instance, my desktop remains empty, and the app search bar in the lower-left corner isn’t locating the programs I expect.

You'll need to reinstall the apps you wish to use. Have you saved files to your desktop folder?

I copied the dekstop folder directly, but it didn't work. Now I'm copying files from it into the new folder, which seems to fix the problem. I often get errors from various apps, so I'm reinstalling most of them to clean things up. I believe this was my last issue—thank you again and have a great evening.
