Hi everyone. I recently purchased an aerosol can of compressed air for cleaning my keyboard—a Corsair K68 RGB—and I’m unsure about the best way to apply it. Should I direct the stream upwards over the keys, between them, or perhaps another method? Thank you in advance for your guidance.

Carefully open the container with a hand-operated opener (a manual one is best) and distribute the contents across your keyboard. Next, shout “CLEAN,” “CLEAN,” “CLEAN” and you’ve finished.

Apologies, this concludes the playful exercise. Avoid utilizing compressed air as it risks moisture accumulating within the switch mechanisms or simply forcing debris deeper into the keys. A vacuum cleaner is a more suitable option. For an exceptionally clean keyboard, employ a keycap puller to detach the individual keys accurately and subsequently use a vacuum combined with cotton swabs.

Carefully open the can with a hand-operated opener (a manual one is recommended) and spread the contents across your keyboard. Next, shout “CLEAN,” “CLEAN,” “CLEAN,” and you’ll be finished.

However, please note that using compressed air isn't advised as it may cause moisture to accumulate in the switch mechanisms or simply force dirt further into the keys; a vacuum is a better alternative. For an exceptionally clean keyboard, utilize a keycap puller to remove the individual keys, followed by another application of the vacuum and cotton swabs.

The only caveat is that dust and debris will eventually damage a keyboard before its switches or electronics show signs of failure. Regular cleaning—the most vital aspect of keyboard upkeep—will prevent the buildup of these contaminants…

I reverse the keyboard so the keys are at the bottom, then lightly tap the back with a 90-degree angle. I subsequently use compressed air from top to bottom across all the keys. Finally, I would employ a vacuum with a small attachment to remove any remaining debris from the space here: https://www.amazon.ca/s?k=keyboard+clean...=sr_nr_n_2

Utilize a gentle brush and secure the bristles by wrapping duct tape around the base. Obtain an inexpensive water-powered blower gun—approximately $1 in price. Remove the nozzles and employ the water gun as an air compressor for clearing debris, followed by brushing away remaining residue.

This type of device is often available at lower costs; I located several options at Walmart and Dollar Stores for a minimal investment. See: https://www.amazon.com/yizi-Water-S...&pf_rd_p=3a8d8247-386e-5bb9-9628-40f5eb04eb46. These units lack compression elements and simply force air; I use them for cleaning items such as fans, computers, and keyboards.

Clean the keys with paper towels or a slightly dried cloth to eliminate germs.
