How to update H80i Firmware - Corsair Link not working
Hi all,
I purchased a second-hand H80i last week and set it up without any problems. I planned to use Corsair Link to change the pump speed (it stays at a fixed 2143 rpm in all modes), but that wasn’t an option. The LED isn’t working either...
The firmware is 1.0.4, yet there are no update choices under Options > Devices. Instead, it opens a window showing the H80i with no buttons available.
I reinstalled Corsair Link (deleted all files) and went back to an older version, restarting several times, but I’m still stuck.
Any suggestions on updating this firmware?
Thanks,
Ben
based on my experience, you don't really need the corsair link (i only used it to turn off the LED feature) and most current boards don't have a 3pin USB header built in. Like with the z370s. with just the cpu_fan header, my h80i has been running smoothly for three years without ever using the corsair link either. just sharing this in case you're thinking of skipping it—there won't be any issues without it.
It seems I just had to spend another day dealing with it, haha.
For those who are confused: Corsair Link 4 won’t update its firmware. You need to uninstall CL4, download a version of Corsair Link v3.2.5742, install it, and then it will ask for a firmware update. It took me two installations before the prompt appeared.
This hasn’t actually made a difference—LEDs aren’t working and CL4 doesn’t have pump control anymore… so I’m still going haha.
It doesn't seem to be a firmware problem at all; there might be another cause. Have you contacted Corsair support yet?
I reached out to technical support, but it seems they don't have a strong reputation lol. We'll keep trying.
