I own a few old laptops that stopped working, and I’m interested in getting my music files from them to my main computer. Some friends on Tom’s, I heard, suggested using a hard drive dock.
Although I’ve made several gaming PCs, I’m unfamiliar with working inside a laptop, so I’m unsure how challenging or dangerous this might be, even with a dock.
I’m also not sure what kind of hard drive dock would fit a laptop’s hard drive, or what specific drives I might find inside these machines (they’re all different ages...).
Additionally, I’m not clear on the tools I’d need to complete this task.
