How to respond to the email while retaining all prior content?
Hi,
For instance:
01 Jan, John sent me a message asking "What are you eating?"
02 Jan, I clicked the "Reply" button in the 01 Jan email and replied with "I am eating apples"
02 Jan, John will see my reply at the top of his email while his original message from 01 Jan appears at the bottom
03 Jan, no response from John
04 Jan, I wish to reply to John's email again and include more details: "I am also eating oranges"
How should I craft a reply so that on 04 Jan John receives an email containing all the messages we exchanged? (Assuming if I click the reply button on 01 Jan, the text from 02 Jan won't show up in the 04 Jan email John gets)
I expect the 04 Jan email to look like this:
Me: "I am also eating oranges"
Me: "I am eating apples"
John: "What are you eating?"
Thanks
Well, based on the email service you use, but I’m referring to Gmail here, which is what I employ.
To reach your goal, simply open the email discussion and tap the reply button at the bottom of the page. This will bring all messages in the conversation into the editing window (usually hidden behind three dots), allowing you to view the full chat history. Then, either delete or modify what you don’t need, and type your response above that content. Finally, verify the recipient details before sending.
Just remember to click the reply button on the most recent message, not the oldest one.
