I've been using my AMD FX 8120 at 4.2Ghz for some time, and during games the temperatures have risen to 50-65°C now they're around 69-68°C with a steady 60°C or higher. I'm not comfortable with this level and don't want to risk damaging my CPU. After lowering it back to 4Ghz and 3.9Ghz, the temps didn't return to the previous range while gaming, and I'm unsure what to do next. Please help.

It seems you might have overlooked adjusting the CPU voltage configuration. Re-setting your BIOS could resolve this issue. Additionally, consider cleaning your PC by blowing out the fans, power supply, GPU, and filters.
