How to Overclock for a Beginner
I'm not trying to come across as superior, but if you're concerned about a $1000 investment without seeing impressive visuals, it might be because the card is a 550TI. A 750TI would be much better and is near the bottom of the current graphics card spectrum. The 3570K remains a strong processor, particularly when overclocked, and won't struggle with higher-end cards. That's why its performance doesn't seem to differ much.
After this discussion, I had to reinstall Windows 7 because of corruption. With a mostly intact set of HDDs, I chose to start over with overclocking. I’ve been watching and reading many videos, and currently I’m using the OC Genie from MSI. This brought my CPU from 3.40GHz to 4.199GHz at 1.152v, reaching a peak temperature of around 52°C. (Running a Zalman 140mm liquid cooler with push/pull dual fans). Everything looks fine; CPU-Z reported 101% over the stock 3.40GHz during bench tests. I plan to upgrade from the old GTX 550 Ti to a better GPU—likely an Asus or another PNY GTX 1060 (though it might already be outdated, but I’m on a tight budget). I also intend to switch the operating system from HDD to SSD. If anyone has any advice before I begin manual BIOS tuning with BIOS-II, please share your thoughts.
