How to move Windows to a new SSD
I’d just pick one of these. Dual bay hard drive dock with cloning feature. I purchased it and used it. You need a hard drive that’s at least as large as the one you’re cloning. It’s nice to be able to clone without dealing with software—just insert the drives, press the button. I haven’t faced any problems with a cloned drive.
Perform a clean Windows update on the SSD (back up your data first), enter your original product key either during setup or later, transfer your current files to the SSD, and you’ll be good to proceed.
You don't have to adjust the keyboard layout since the motherboard remains the same. The process will start automatically.
