Many people find Photoshop tutorials helpful. Your friend’s skills can be a great starting point. Look for structured courses or guides to build your abilities.

Lynda.com! Note: I've changed things a bit. Some creators have sites with guides, so check them out and pick what suits you.

Could be a video platform like YouTube or Lynda.com. There might also be a Photoshop discussion board online.

I gained most of my Photoshop abilities from YouTube and experimenting on my own. I also played around with the software to become comfortable with it.

I attended a graphic design course in high school which gave me a solid foundation in Photoshop. If you're a student looking for an easy way to earn credit, that's a great idea. Personally, I discovered that the best way to learn is to imagine an idea and attempt to bring it to life! Experiment freely and make a variety of creative images, and you'll gradually become more comfortable with the software.

Consider your goal, look up the concept, then act immediately—practice, try new approaches, and test them. The most effective learning happens through direct experience.
