I need to set up kdenlive on my Ubuntu system. I've encountered issues with a 404 and 403 errors when trying to install it, and the software isn't showing up. I'm looking for guidance on how to proceed.

Start by updating apt-get to align with the latest repositories. This should resolve the connectivity issues. When prompted, include the appropriate PPA for the missing package.

To add the right PPA, follow the instructions on the page you shared. If you're unfamiliar with LINUX, start by installing the official KDE package manager and then add the PPA using the provided steps.

The instructions are available on the site. You can add the repository if needed, but only if it’s reported as unavailable. Running apt update or upgrade might still cause issues, indicating a more serious problem. The current Ubuntu version you’re using isn’t specified, and it’s unclear if other packages install correctly. Share the full output of the command to review the sources list.

The system details are: Ubuntu GNOME 16.04.2 LTS 64-bit. Other packages are installing correctly. Blender was installed successfully via sudo, but you're seeking Kdenlive instead. The output of `cat /etc/apt/sources.list` would list the available sources for package installation.

The issue might be related to the specific version or configuration. You mentioned 16.04 is supported, but the error could still occur depending on your setup. Please share the exact error message from the Apt command so we can address it properly.

It appears the packages can't be resolved on the HK mirror. Modify the sources.list file and update the specified deb package. Then execute apt-get update followed by apt-get upgrade.
