Hello, I'm working on boosting the single core performance of my FX-8350 by overclocking, but using OC Genie on my motherboard causes the fan speeds to spike excessively. It sounds like a plane about to take off, lol.
I'm looking for a simpler method to overclock or adjust OC Genie.
Specs: Mobo - MSI 970 Gaming, CPU - FX-8350, CPU Cooler - Hyper 212 Evo.

As clutchc mentioned, you need to overclock via BIOS. All power-saving options must be disabled before adjusting the multiplier and Vcore as you increase the clock speed. This guide will cover most of the settings and serves as a solid overclocking reference. With models like the FX 8350, MSI 970 gaming and Hyper 212 EVO, you should reach around 4.4Ghz.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask, but sticking to the guide should yield a stable and effective overclock.
