How to get started on twitch?
I plan to begin streaming soon. I’ve realized I’m more comfortable engaging with viewers through a camera and microphone when there are real-time interactions. On YouTube, I usually attract only a few viewers, but I can still talk naturally. What I really need is the ability to communicate with people live.
I’m concerned about launching without an audience. I already know the essential advice: stay consistent, avoid high-competition games, let friends know, and maybe join communities for streamers. I haven’t found a specific forum or platform yet. I hope to start in about two months. My friend suggested that if I stream Minecraft, especially BedWars, he might watch—something I’m considering.
Any advice on how to get started?
I'm 15 so yayyyy
I'm pretty good at that. People say I'm special
My friends think I have a nice personality, does that matter?
I was thinking 720p 60fps. Good?
I was planning a blue snowball for now. Is that enough?
Damn it. Time to go get surgery.
Browns are still clicky so, you might want to get red switches
. Seems like I didn't remember that right, sorry.
As for being a streamer, I'd say all you need is a good personality and consistency.
This is all personal preference but, the streamers I watch have amazing and funny personalities and overall are no bs people.
They all stream in 720p 60 which is fine but, 1080p is nice if you have the hardware for it.
Don't expect to get a lot of following for a couple years though because it takes a while to figure out everything.

I mainly want to play Minecraft and some other games available on itch.io. How can I find streamers who are interested in playing with me? From my experience, most streamers don’t usually collaborate with people smaller than themselves. So, could you invite friends to join me on Discord while streaming? I hadn’t considered that idea—I have several friends who might be willing. I’m thinking about trying CS:GO surfing too; it’s something I’ve been wanting to try. We can all hang out and play together. Is that what you’re suggesting?
I personally prefer 720p resolution. I don’t see a reason why people wouldn’t use it. There are clear advantages to 720p compared to 1080p, though I’m not sure which one is better.
I thought reds would be louder, or maybe I’m thinking about blues... I’m not certain.
I plan to play on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays (at least until my parents allow it except on Fridays after school).
I mostly like 720p. Besides, if I stream in 1080p, people with slower connections won’t enjoy the stream as much as others.
I don’t expect to gain a lot. This is just something I want to do and reach around 30 followers. My main aim is to have about 50 people watching one stream (my current target is around 5).
Thanks for all the help everyone!
These days just throw a rock in any direction and you'll hit a twitch streamer. Joining squads in battle royales often brings you near other new streamers. You're definitely not going to be playing with DrDisrespect. I'm referring to interacting with fresh, emerging streamers.
Sure? If that's your style. Usually when you play multiplayer games with friends, you use Discord for voice chat, right? Just do the same but on stream.
Browns aren't clicky. They're tactile, non-clicky switches. Pressing the switch or keystroke doesn't make a sound, but like any switch they can still create a lot of noise if you hit the limit. You can buy o-rings to place under the keys to prevent them from bottoming out if you're really worried about noise.
Was it ever this quick? For some reason, I recall they weren't quite as responsive as blues.
