Hey everyone I just installed a CPU cooler (Ant eSports c612 v2, priced around 1500rs or $17) and my CPU temperature dropped from 95°C to below 80°C. I'm satisfied with the performance but it has its drawbacks. Now I have RGB lighting in my all-black case, which is not ideal. The cooler's fan has a 3-pin ARGB connector and a 4-pin CPU fan connector. My motherboard doesn't support the 3-pin ARGB, so I looked into it. It turns out if I don't use the 3-pin connector, the fan will work without RGB, but I was surprised to find that the cooler was still glowing with RGB lights randomly. This has left me a bit confused. Could anyone suggest how to resolve this issue? Thanks.
Update your post with complete hardware details and operating system information. Provide the power supply specifications, including voltage, amperage, age, and condition (original, build, refurbished, used). List the disk drive specifications such as make, model, and capacity, along with their current usage. Include a list of all connected peripherals. Specify whether the network connection is wired or wireless.
Buying items not compatible with your motherboard and complaining about it? That's your responsibility, especially since RGB components are often mentioned. If your board has a 4-pin header, you can usually locate a 3-pin to 4-pin adapter on Amazon or Newegg to connect the cooler and use software to manage the lights.
3pin to sata connector isn't meant for ARGB, it's intended for the fan's motor. The connector looks very different, and even if you manage to connect it, it could damage the LEDs—possibly the entire fan electronics—since it operates at 12vDC analog, whereas ARGB uses 5vDC digital.
Yes, that one can function, though it's a complete ARGB controller, not the setup you had in mind.
