You can safely remove your HDD's Windows installation by using a clean installation media. Create a bootable USB drive with the Windows ISO file, then format your HDD as a partition and reinstall Windows there. This will erase all data on the original drive while keeping your games and other files intact.

You can format all your disks during the Windows 10 setup. If you only want to remove the operating system, it’s not feasible.

Ensure the old hard drive is removed during installation of the new OS on the SSD. This step is crucial since otherwise the fresh Windows copy might rely on files from the old HDD. After mounting a second HDD, simply delete the "windows" folder and remove any "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86)" directories.

Instead of using an SSD, perform a secure erase or sanitization and revert the drive via the manufacturer's software.

Format the entire hard drive or solid state drive. Ensure you have another disc or USB device with a different operating system.
