When VDSL first launched, the situation was quite challenging. The company didn’t include my area in their strategy, so the council had to create their own plan, which ended up being a mess. Despite that, the service turned out to be solid, and I received it faster than I do now. However, the lack of proper promotion led to low interest, causing the project to collapse. It’s often the case that government or council initiatives are poorly planned and underfunded, resulting in disastrous outcomes.

Without a WAN port on the ISP device, I’d abandon this project. Instead, I’d redirect the phone number to another VoIP provider that provides standard SIP credentials along with call forwarding, SMS, and additional features.
