I have a pc on the second floor and can connect the Samsung TV AU8000 via the same wifi. I need to control the pc on the first floor for simple tasks like playing videos or doing web searches. I also have a wireless 2.4g mouse and keyboard connected to the tv, which works fine there but not with the laptop. Any suggestions?

remote access settings allow using a connected keyboard or mouse to control your PC via Wi-Fi or network, but this function is only available on certain select Samsung smart TVs (premium models). If your TV supports it, you can locate it in the TV's settings—press the home button, choose sources, and connect the TV to your PC.

the companion app for Windows is offered on the Samsung website under PConTV.

A $150 used laptop or a similarly affordable Firestick or Android gadget will suffice for web browsing and video. Many modern TVs come equipped with all the necessary video players and web browsers directly on the screen, and they typically support keyboard input as well.
