Hi, yesterday I attempted to overclock my CPU a bit, then saved and closed my PC, but it doesn’t boot. I understand I need to reset the CMOS, but I’m not sure how to do that. I want to avoid damaging anything and I’m still getting familiar with the PC community. I found a note about clearing the CMOS on the board, but I’m not sure what comes next.

Use a screwdriver to briefly short the pins for a few seconds while the system is off. This should reset your CMOS.

Disconnect all external components such as the keyboard or power outlet. Then either trim the jumper or remove the battery for 5 to 10 minutes.

Your computer started up successfully. I understand you were feeling anxious about it.
