You can measure the average frames per second by using a tool that records gameplay over time, such as Fraps or custom scripts. Try setting up a short test session and log the FPS values to calculate the average. If the tool doesn’t work, consider writing a simple script in Python or using a dedicated benchmarking app.

I previously mentioned fraps isn't a proper benchmarking tool, so I can't use it.

You mentioned having some concerns or problems with it, but the details aren't clear. Could you provide more information?

The benchmark stops unexpectedly, not when I press the 'end benchmark' key. The run benchmark set for X seconds also doesn't measure the actual time requested.

It might be a game-related problem. Consider using MSI Afterburner then.

You can simply move around in the game and check the FPS counter. Likely the best method.

This displays a chart instead of the average frames per second. At least it’s something.
