Your case has minimal airflow...that's the main concern...as I mentioned before, just open the case and direct a fan into it will resolve the problem. The BIOS isn't the issue.

Extremely important, your CPU is heating up a lot during gaming, which will quickly raise the temperature by 15-20 degrees. Without any airflow through the case, it's turning into a hot box very fast when under heavy load. Using the stock fans from the Ryzen would have kept temperatures much lower than with the freezer 13 model lacking any intake fans, all for a more affordable option.

it makes sense since I have the see-through panel off and definitely at least 10C lowers temperatures. 2060 sends a lot of hot air to the side, which would stay in place. I'm considering making a hole in the panel so the air from 2060 can exit directly.

these older Ryzen models tend to prefer 1000, 3000, or 4000 watts, and the series often face significant overheating problems. even a powerful AIO won’t manage them unless they’re configured correctly. i handle it by... adjusting the PBO to TDP, then applying Windows power plans depending on whether i need more performance or lower usage (boost or base). disabling this driver is necessary.

so i can use Windows power settings, the main goal of this device/driver is to enable control from Ryzen master.
if you wish to apply Windows power plan settings, it can be set to remain inactive permanently...

why did AMD choose this approach here? i’m not sure, since this driver doesn’t improve power efficiency or performance and actually reduces stability for me.
it functions by disabling certain CPU functions that the OS normally manages.
first i locate the correct AMD GPIO device in the device manager—there are two, but only one controls clock speeds.
1. in device manager locate AMD GPIO
the version matching 2.2.0.121.
2. copy the hardware id of that unit; it appears on a Ryzen 3600
ACPI\VEN_AMDI
DEV_0030
ACPI\AMDI0030
you can then disable it to test if clock speeds respond to windows frequency limits.
once confirmed, i set it permanently via group policy...

to block these IDs in Group Policy:
press Win + R, type gpedit.msc, press Enter.
navigate to: Computer Configuration → Administrative Templates → System → Device Installation → Device Installation Restrictions.
double-click “Prevent installation of devices that match any of these device IDs.”
set to Enabled.
click Show… and enter:
Yours may differ slightly in hardware id—check the device manager.
ACPI\VEN_AMDI
DEV_0030
ACPI\AMDI0030
click OK → Apply → OK.
reboot your system.

optional: uninstall GPIO first (if not already done).
if it remains installed:
go to Device Manager → System devices.
right-click AMD GPIO Controller (matching AMDI0030) → Uninstall device.
check “Delete the driver software…” if visible.
reboot once more.

now windows should not reinstall the AMD GPIO controller, and your CPU power scaling will stay fully under Windows control (such as setting max processor state to 99%).
you’ll notice a nearly 10-degree drop in idle temperature and a 10-15 degree reduction during regular use.
