You're planning a PC build within a £1900 budget, focusing on cost-effective components. For a balanced setup, consider a mid-range CPU like the Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5, paired with an affordable GPU such as the RTX 3050 or similar. Add a solid SSD for storage and a decent monitor to meet your needs. This should keep you within budget while delivering good performance.

Both AMD and Intel are releasing new processors soon, yet purchasing now isn't ideal. However, each offers strong performance at affordable rates at the moment. What would you like to use your computer for?

AMD recently revealed the Ryzen 7 5800X3D featuring a new "3d cache" technology. Benchmark outcomes could provide more insight before purchasing.

I'm just holding my breath until Intel, AMD, and possibly NVIDIA announce their latest CPU and graphics cards.

It requires a mix of tasks suited for both gaming and productivity. I handle various games and work with different apps.

For gaming purposes, get a GPU first. Once you have it, determine the appropriate CPU to pair with it. It might be possible that suitable CPUs become available before you finalize your choice.

Don't wait, just buy something in your budget. There is nothing wrong with any of the current or even last Gen components. The gpu shortage has made getting one impossible, so waiting won't help either. Monitors aren't cheap either.

I mainly enjoy playing on it, with a bit of light tweaking and maybe streaming too.

I was considering a model around the RTX 3070 and 3080, but the prices seem too steep. I need to balance cost with performance without cutting corners. Appreciate the guidance!
