You needed a stand because you used to place it near your playing area and take it out once you finished.

I had to move my G27 back and forth, which was really tough. It takes about 5 to 10 minutes to get it ready each time. You need to bring the wheel, pedals, and shifter along with you.

It's quite frustrating to configure each time. I've kept mine on my desk even when I'm not using it.
