I will purchase a new PC with these specifications.
The components include the Asus Z170 Pro Gaming, Asus GTX 1080, Corsair H100 240mm Hydro watercooling, 500 gb M.2 SSD, 3 tb HDD, 16 gb 2666 RAM, i5 6600k processor.
I intend to overclock the CPU, not the GPU. I need to know the required PSU wattage for this setup. My current estimate is around 550 watts. Thank you very much for your assistance.

No need to worry, 550W is acceptable.
However, 650W is just $5 more.
The 550W version works just as well.

Will the Corsair VS550 550W suffice? If not, what about the Corsair RM550x 80plus gold? I just need to know if it will work and be certain.

I think the RM lineup is superior to the VS. Choose the RM.

VS is a terrible power supply. The RM is superior. The RMx you recommended works well. 550W should suffice in practical use. It might be worth considering the 650W option only slightly more costly.

Isokolon :
VS is a terrible PSU
The RM is superior
The RMx you recommended is excellent.
550W should suffice in practical situations.
It could be better to opt for the 650W if it's only slightly more costly.
The issue is that, I anticipate difficulties integrating one into the current build.
When you suggest it might be worth it, do you mean as a necessity or for future-proofing?

Neither. I mean it will run a bit cooler and possibly quieter.
It should stay under 380W during gaming if they hit that level.
A RM650x should likely run without the fan increasing much most of the time.
It might be worth it if the savings are around 7 bucks.
What's the issue? Size? Since it's a standard size.
The XFX TS Gold Series / Cooler Master V & VS 550W are 2cm shorter, and EVGA SuperNOVA GS is 1cm shorter.

Isokolon :
not sure.
I think it might run a bit cooler and quieter, maybe just a little slower.
it should stay under 380W during gaming without getting too hot.
a RM650x should probably not need the fan to spin much.
it could be worth it if the savings are around 7 bucks.

it’s not an option here, as I’m buying it for a reason. if you’re worried it’ll be too low, I’ll look elsewhere.

Nono, 550W is acceptable.
But often 650W is just $5 more.
The 550W is completely okay.
