I plan to install a Ryzen 9 5900x (or possibly 4900x) on an ASUS motherboard. This will let me connect my current desk lighting setup that matches the AURA headers perfectly. The processor should handle heavy workloads like Blender rendering, simulations, video encoding, and possibly multibox gaming such as running multiple WoW clients. I want to stay under $180, but anything cheaper might limit performance. I’m considering replacing my air cooler with a 360mm AIO unit for better cooling, which could allow a slight overclock. My system already handles temperatures well. Lastly, I need plenty of SATA ports and at least two NVMe connections, along with native RAID support without needing a separate controller. No Wi-Fi needed—just a solid wired LAN connection.
Ryzen 5000 will run on AM5. If the 3900X is replaced by a 4900X model, priced around $180, the Strix B550-F would be available.
