Don't specify the aftermarket brand, it's unclear how much you can overclock. Just gradually increase the factory clocks by about 20mhz at a time and stop when things get too hot while playing Fortnite. Also, adjust the fan speeds to your comfort level, balancing noise and cooling.

Why are you making such a big deal about it? I wouldn't try to push that old card beyond its usual limits, since it won't help much and they tend to overheat when I recall it correctly.

Why are you using such strong language? I wouldn't try to push that old card beyond its usual speeds. It won't perform much and they tend to overheat if I recall correctly.

Don't specify the aftermarket brand, it's unclear how much overclocking is possible or what the original clock speeds are. Just gradually increase the clock speed by about 20MHz until things get too hot while playing Fortnite, then reduce it. Also adjust the fan speeds to your comfort level, balancing noise and cooling.

He mentioned that the push you could make likely wouldn't bring much improvement, and because the card is quite old it might cause problems and even damage it. There are also no updated drivers available for the 4800 series since it's so outdated—I'd guess there are optimizations that aren't being used. I'd recommend upgrading your graphics card to a GT 1030 2GB with GDDR5 (if possible) or going up to a 1050ti if you can afford it.

A 10% overclock on a strong card is not very impressive, and that’s not a great card. If you usually get 20 frames per second, a 10% increase brings it to about 22 fps, which won’t be obvious.
