Microwaves, the kind of signal used by WiFi, are non-ionizing radiation which means they don’t have the ability to cause cancer initially. WiFi also transmits very little power, so it can’t lead to physical harm either. The intensity grows rapidly from sunlight—about 1 kilowatt per square meter—while WiFi maxes out at around 100 milliwatts at the antenna. This power diminishes quickly with distance, often dropping below a thousandth of a milliwatt. It would take decades for WiFi exposure to match the daily radiation you get from sunlight. EDIT: Standing five meters from a router for a year equals the radiation from just one minute of sunbathing.
It’s quite plausible that their statements about a low-radiation router are accurate. However, let’s clarify. The term "radiation" often confuses people. It actually refers to the Electromagnetic Spectrum, which includes visible light, infrared, ultraviolet, microwaves, radio waves, and more. Radio waves used in Wi-Fi are non-ionizing, meaning they lack enough energy to remove electrons or damage DNA. This makes them safe for exposure. In contrast, ionizing radiation like gamma rays can harm cells and increase cancer risk. Understanding this distinction helps explain why WIFI poses no health hazards. TL;DR: No harmful effects from Wi-Fi.
