Hello everyone, I'm looking to upgrade my FX 8350 Black Edition. I have a Gigabyte 970A-UD3P with rev 2.0 BIOS. Does this motherboard completely power off and turn back on during a restart, or just restart itself? And what would be the optimal overclock for me?

The same issue occurs with your Ga-990fxa-UD5 when BIOS settings are left in auto mode. Changing CPU and RAM settings to manual while keeping defaults might improve performance.

With that cooler, possibly reaching up to 4.5 GHz. It seems the second question isn't fully clear. Most MBs shut down briefly during a restart from the OS, but they don't lose all power at that moment.

When I restart, I can feel the fans getting louder, similar to when I turn on my computer.

Yes, this occurs until the BIOS restarts itself and sets up configurations or keeps running until the operating system fully boots and you switch to using software to manage fans.

I noticed something around 4.5 on 1.375 it becomes stable (a few hours of AIDA64) with temperatures never exceeding 50°C. However, when I try to turn on my PC, it briefly powers on for a second, then shuts off and restarts automatically after three seconds, and everything works normally when I press the power button. Not when it's not being observed.
