How long does it take for a typical Skyrim SE update to finish?
So Bethesda fixed Skyrim SE today. But now I can't play it because everyone keeps adding mods to SKSE64, which isn't getting updated enough. Do you guys have a good idea when these fixes will finally happen? Thanks.
I believe SKSE64 needs a fresh update from the creators. For now, just wait a bit and try this trick instead. Usually, swapping out SkyrimSE.exe for an older version that works is enough. Go to https://steamdb.info/depot/489833/history/ and find where SkyrimSE.exe was added to Steam history. Look at the "Manifest ID" in that entry when you want your specific exe released. Then, press win+R to open Run and type: download_depot 489830 489833 <Put here the Mainfest ID from step one> Once the download finishes, the console will tell you where your new file goes. Replace SkyrimSE.exe in your install folder, but make sure to change your skyrim...
I think SKSE64 needs a new version too. Just wait a bit. While that happens, try this trick. Usually, swapping out SkyrimSE.exe for an older file works well enough. Go open https://steamdb.info/depot/489833/history/ to see the history of skyrimSE.exe versions. Find the line with the date when you wanted the new exe released, then look at "Manifest ID" in that spot. Open Windows Run (press win+R), and type steam://nav/console inside it. When that console pops up, paste: download_depot 489830 489833 <Put here the Mainfest ID from step one>. Once the download finishes, the console tells you where to save your file. Now, put skyrimSE.exe in your game folder. Don't forget to change your Skyrim update settings and only start playing through the SKSE launcher so it doesn't get too many new updates for you.
