I've heard some discussions suggesting that running your PC on a PSU below its minimum capacity might lead to damage. I own a 600W PSU and have been experiencing overheating problems, mostly because the case is not doing well. I recently switched to the 2070 Super and Ryzen 7 5700X3D starting in early January. Have I compromised my hardware? Should I focus on replacing the PSU or the case first? If yes, what should be a recommended PSU?

The suggested PSU for a 2070S is 650W. You're just below that threshold. Although it's improbable you've sustained any harm, I highly advise investing in a superior, more powerful unit. The PSU is crucial for your system and should be positioned near the top of your budget. Start here:

It depends on the specific 600W PSU you're talking about, as it could work or not. The 2070 Super and 5700X3D aren't very high power parts, but the PSU still needs to be good quality.

What is the model and specifications of your present 600w power supply?
How much time has it been in use?
It might be fine if it's under power, but a faulty or outdated PSU can harm other components if it fails during operation.
What is the model of your current case?
Why would you want to replace it so badly?
Can you manage both the purchase and installation?
And... userbenchmark is often seen as unreliable science by many.

The heating concerns are unclear. There are many people assuming overheating problems, but the actual temperature readings show everything is normal. If there are real temperature concerns, swapping out the PSU probably won’t fix it. Still, I wouldn’t choose a PSU below the recommended wattage—I like having extra capacity.

Other people mentioned that power rating isn’t the only factor to consider. The brand and model matter just as much, so always provide those details when asking about a power supply.

I also wanted to echo what geofelt said: UserBenchmark used to be a helpful resource, but it’s now unreliable. Some believe the host has completely lost his mind. There are plenty of YouTube videos discussing this issue. Here’s one:
