Hello Guys, welcome! I’m new here and really appreciate your kindness and support <3. Yesterday I purchased a 1060 6GB and noticed my CPU is limiting performance in games. While my friends with the same GPU have better CPUs (like an i7 7700) achieving over 15-20 FPS, I’m stuck at 3.4GHz default and 3.8GHz turbo, never reaching 3.8. I’m wondering if it’s possible to configure the BIOS for optimal performance across all applications? My setup includes:

MOBO: Asus P8 H61M LX r2.0 (last BIOS update)
CPU: i7 2600 3.4 (turbo 3.8)
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GB (G1 Gaming)
RAM: 2x 4GB 1333MHz (Geil Evo Corsa)
PSU: Corsair 430W CX
COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper 212X
DISKS: 120GB SSD + 1TB HDD

Well, your CPU is a Sandy Bridge that really handles overclocking well. However, it's a second-generation Intel core i processor and won't match the speed of your friends' 7700k. I'm not an expert in overclocking, but I tried running my old 2500k at 4.5GHz (with a Vcore of 1.35V) and it worked quite well until I upgraded my system. There are many overclocking guides for 2500k and 2600k Sandy Bridge, which were very popular a few years ago.

your cpu runs on a sandy bridge architecture that handles overclocking quite well. though it's a second-generation intel core i processor, it won't match the speed of your friends' 7700k. i'm not an expert in overclocking, but i saw guides for 2500k and 2600k sandy bridges a while ago. since my motherboard doesn't permit full overclocking and my cpu isn't the k model, i was curious—can i push it to 3.8ghz? does it have a turbo clock?
